Subbi means Hope in Luganda language.

Kabuye Steven took orphaned children into his home thus creating Subbi-Hope Orphanage.

Kabuye himself was orphaned as a child. 

There are currently 9 children in his household as well as 3 dogs. (The dogs are useful members of the group, recently contributing to the rescue of one of the children who had fallen into the dam. They also help to scare away the wild boar who menace the children when they are gathering firewood.) 

Kabuye needs help to support the children and dogs.​
