There have been heavy rains. The animals need protection while outside. Steve Kabuye is trying now to raise funds for building materials to make shelter.
Junior continues to be ill. He needs an injection which costs only $50. Please give even small amounts.
Please donate if you can.
There is also a fundraiser for a water tank

Subbi means Hope in Luganda language.
Kabuye Steven took orphaned children into his home thus creating Subbi-Hope Orphanage.
Kabuye himself was orphaned as a child.
There are currently 9 children in his household as well as 3 dogs. (The dogs are useful members of the group, recently contributing to the rescue of one of the children who had fallen into the dam. They also help to scare away the wild boar who menace the children when they are gathering firewood.)
Kabuye needs help to support the children and dogs.

Mosquito Nets: One of the children recently died of malaria. These are mosquito nets just purchased with the proceeds of a sucessful Facebook fundraiser. Kabuye walked to several shops over a 3 day period searching for a price he could pay. There are 13 nets here. Enough for everyone in the household.
Kabuye has a garden. Rainfall is the only water available for it. A pump would be prohibitively expensive. The top picture is of potatoes; the bottom picture is of cassava.
The cassava is a crop in December. At that time, he can sell some of it to raise cash.
There is an organization called Kiva which may be able to help Kabuye with the garden. He will need a little less than $50 to buy a license and to set up a bank account before he can apply to Kiva.
Kabuye and the children cook on open fires. In the picture below they are gathering firewood. That is the forest where the wild boar live.
Kabuye once asked how many times a day I eat here in California. I told him usually 3 times.
Kabuye said that he and the children usually eat twice a day, but often only once a day.
Kabuye and the children go to a small dam everyday to get water for cooking, drinking and bathing. The dam is dangerous. Neighborhood children have drowned in it. Recent heavy rains have caused muddy runoff that makes the water unpalatable. There is currently a Facebook fundraiser to buy a 1000 liter water tank for the household. If they are able to raise enough money, they will not have to go everyday to this place.and they will always have clean water to drink.
